About the Venue | Klingshirn Winery

Klingshirn Winery

grapes2Klingshirn Winery has been owned and operated by the Klingshirn family since 1935.  The concord vineyards on the farm were there before the Klingshirn’s, and date to over 100 yrs old.  Today, the winery is the last agricultural enterprise still existing in the city of Avon Lake. Their long history and attention to quality over the years have kept them at the top of the Ohio wine industry and an icon within the city. Always innovative, the vineyards have been added to over the years, and higher quality wine grapes have been succesfully grown and vinified.  However, some of the most winter tender wine grape varieties have not stood up to the harsh winters we’ve had recently, and thus a great deal of replanting will be taking place in the future.  In the meantime, vineyard trellises make for a great obstacle. Huff&Puff Fun Obstacle Run is  the only way the general public is able to get a good look at the Klingshirn farm.  Typically tours happen at the winery only.  Contestants and spectators of Huff&Puff  will have the opportunity to travel the full length and breadth of the Klingshirn property as they complete the course.  Wrap it up with a sampling of one of our wines, and the day will be a complete success. For complete information regarding the Klingshirn Winery, visit our website at  Looking forward to seeing you on race day or any other day we’re here to serve you.

President, wine maker, grape grower….
